Ive been taking sertraline and propnaolol for two weeks today and still feel quite panicky and like i cant breathe at times. Iv been off work for two weeks and the thought of going back makes me anxious. The tablets made me feel sick but yesterday finally started to wear off. I wouldnt wish feeling anxious and panic attacks on anyone as they are awful. I kept thinking i was having a heartattack as ive never experienced such before. I just want to be at work and normal again confused does anyone feel the sAme

    Hi Gina,

I felt the same when I started my tablets, they do settle though and the symptoms become much less. The panic attacks I had when I first started them were much more intense than my normal ones, the doctor told me that it is normal and it is a chemical reaction not so much one of panic so try not to think you are getting worse, it is your body getting use to the tablets.

Hi Gina, You can contact me any time I am a few weeks ahead of you and I've been on Sertraline before so I know what it is like! They do work though so worth the angst now.

Yes, anxiety can make u feel totally out of control, totally lost. It can be immobilizing. SSRI'S meds are a big family and one that works for one, may not work for another but they all take wks to get into the bodies system. I have been off/ on SSRI meds at different times. Trying Sertraline, wk 3

and have had limited relief but will give it 8 wks. I have found literature on anxiety helpful to me abMy family. Take a look at "From Panic to Power" and "A Life Less Anxious" .
