Ive had a few red flags with my heart but I don’t know if it’s serious enough.

I’m 17 years old, weight about 120lbs, lift weights and have two gym classes.

I have anxiety, and depression. My mom has asthma. I had an asthma test (wheezing, shortness of breath) done a while ago but it came up negative.

I have had my heart skip a beat before, chest pains during exercise, chest pains even when I’m not exercising, randomly sped up heartrate when I’m relaxed, and just today I had my heart jump up to about 180 bpm as I was doing bunnyhops for a team competition in my weight class. My heartrate is usually quicker than normal, in fact this past weekend my boyfriend commented on it but it felt normal to me.

After today, I’m a little worried. Is this cause for alarm? And if I go to the doctors for this, what should I expect?

I know this is only a website and not a pharmacy or real hospital or whatever, but I want a second opinion.

(Honestly I don’t like going to the doctors unless I really have to)

You need to go to doctor and see a heart specialist, this is not normal , they may get you to wear a Holter for 24 hours to track your heart . If you get pain go to emergency

It could be anything like IST (Inappropriate sinus tachycardia) or SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) or even just stress and anxiety. Its worth getting a holter monitor. Either way, it doesn't sound life threatening. I know how awful it feels though - I have IST, Atrial flutter, and POTS and had SVT in the past before my ablation. Hang in there, just check it out smile
