Ive had an ear infection for a week and I'm 16 years old

On Monday I could feel pain in my right ear but thought it was a ear pimple, then later that night I was very sleepless from the discomfort this pain gave me. The next day I went to the doctors and he gave me ear drops, which felt like they made my ears worse because then my left ear got infected. I can't hear out of both of my ears, only loud noises I can just hear. I went back to the doctors and seen three doctors, they have me on Panadol for my temperature, nurofen for pain and antibiotics, they also seem like they aren't helping either.

I also can't eat at all. I'm 16 years old and really worried.

Hi Shelby69754, It sounds like you have a Bacterial infection that either started in the Ear canal, or Throat. This can be very uncomfortable but the course of Antibiotics should sort you out in 9-13 Days, if you don't feel better nearing the end of the treatment, go back and see the Doc. I can see no reason why you won't get back to your normal Hearing. The infection will have caused the glands in the throat to swell, again the Antibiotics should shift it. I used to get Tonsillitis all the time when I was Younger, which always brought with it an Ear infection. Do you remember anything that could have triggered this? Like did you go swimming or been listening to loud Music?

Well Monday was back to school and my ears were really itchy. The tables were dusty and I still decided to itch my ears after I touched the surface

What do you mean the tablets were dusty ?  Definitely sounds as though it's allergy related.  My ears itch at times too.

Don't worry Shelby,  If you're on antibiotics you'll be protected from anything

    potentially nasty going on.

Do your ears feel blocked, if so you're suffering Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

(ETD)....like many more of us on this Forum.  How do you think it started, did

    you have a cold ?

Something like blocked ears can take a long time to clear.  If once you've

finished the course of antibiotics and ears still feel blocked, go back to

doctor again.  I am assuming you're in England by the names of the medication

    you're taking.

How long has it been going on ?

      No actually, I'm in Australia.

It all started Monday, todays Friday. Monday was the day I started school again, and when I was at school my ears were really itchy, the chairs and tables were quite dusty but still ended up itching my ears.

Do the itchy ears only start while in school....if so sounds like you're allergic to something

in the classroom.  Take antihistamines to see if they help.
