Ive had anxiety bad along with ear pain an dizziness.

Hi i am new to this site an im looking for answers to why im having anxiety bad along with dizziness an ear pain an ringing in my ears. I went to the regular Dr an she put me on antibiotics an is sending me to a ENT specialist . She said i have a narrow ear drum an she cant see inside my ear . My ? Would be why would my body be off an causing anxiety if my ears are off an im In pain all through my head . Im going on 2 months of hurting an seeing a different Dr for different symptoms . Im tired an wont my daily life back out of this bed . please help me so i can stop my mind from going through these thoughts of bad things grr.

Hi Elizabeth, It sounds to me that you have an infection that has caused the swelling in the Ear Canal, preventing the Dr from being able to have a good look at what's going on and causes the canal feel tender paired with being painful. It's the changing pressures within the fluid within the inner Ear, the feeling of Vertigo can be very similar to anxiety/panic attack. Hopefully after a few Days on the Meds, they will start to ease your symptoms. Your ability to not hear properly will indeed not help any anxiety, but it sounds like you have been going around in circles, feeding your own imagination with the worst possible situations/outcomes possible. The ringing only gets worse when you think about it.........It's all not a very happy situation, but I think you have already done the right thing by seeing a Doctor and started Antibiotics. How long have you been on your Tablets? ENT will possibly give you a hearing test and they have better tools to look inside. At some point, if your Ear continues to trouble you, I would hope that they take a Swab to send to the Lab. I once had an infection for Months taking different Meds, until I had a swab and it was decided that it was being caused by an abnormal bacteria that could be easily treated with a different remedy, within Days it was much better. Is this the first time you have had Ear Trouble? Are you in the UK? Try not to worry about your Hearing, that pain is kind of a good sign and part of the repair process. Did you mention anxiety to the Doc? Might be able to give you something to ease that discomfort. Hope you feel better soon and let us know how you get on

I too have anxiety, tinnitis, full feeling in ears, vertigo, weird feeling in my head. Not fun..Iv been to ENT 4 times. T caused by slight hearing loss, but the strangeness in head and the dizziness who knows. I haven't felt right in over a year..just sooo hoping this too shall pass...hope you find answers. With ear pain, it's prob infection give meds time. You should be fine..
