I don't t think you should. PF takes along time to heal and the more you can rest it,ice it and stretch it the sooner it will heal. I am sure you have heard of basketball players not being able to play for a year or more because they over used it.

Taping is a fairly simple method used to help ease pain related with the condition. Athletic tape can be applied in the morning to decrease strain throughout the day, or just before exercise to keep it from moving too much during physical activity. It is recommended that the tape be removed intermittently as it prevents the skin from breathing. The feet should be clean and dry to help the tape stick.

You can read the procedure to be followed for taping here: happyfeet4ever .com/fascitis - plantar - taping (write without spaces)

I have had PF for 4 weeks,  I had accupuncture on 13/02, told I could run,  so went for a 5 mile very steady flat road run,  little pain when running,  however,  when I stopped I couldn't put my heel on the floor!  So decided to rest for another week,  purchased a compression sock FS6 of the net (£12.99).  Went for a steady hilly run (5 mile) with sock on, and off road shoes,(today)  again little pain when running,  and pain when I had stopped, but not as bad as last week.  I think it is rest that is needed, with exercise, not sure if the sock has helped. You say you are 14,  you have plenty of playing/competitiion years ahead of you,  so if I was you I would get on your bike and cycle if you swim,  get it better before you do and more damage. Good Luck.  Keep us informed.

Personally, I wouldn't.  I had plantar fasciitis that was still in the early stages when I went to see a podiatrist.  The podiatrist didn't emphasize resting my feet so I stayed active for a while.  Even doing the stretches that were recommended to me, my feet got much worse during that time period.  The only thing that finally reversed the problem was when I started resting my feet.  Since it had gotten so much worse, my feet are now taking a lot longer to heal.  I really regret not resting them sooner.
