Jacee, I was so upset to learn that Tessa is unwell and in hospital. Now I'm in a panic as we haven't heard from you for a couple of days either and I know you hadn't been feeling too good lately. Please post and let us know you are OK. love Vanessa.

Hi Van, you don't get rid of me that easily. I have been busy at work and so have been very tired by the time I have got home so forgive me for neglecting my friends. I had been concerned about Tessa though and had sent her a private message and an email so I am pleased to hear from her. Thanks again for your kind thoughts and a very big thanks (once again) for your wonderful store of knowledge. I \"cut and pasted\" your reply to my exercise question into an email to my nurse and she has responded on her first day back in work (Tuesday) and offered to fit me in as an extra in her clinic tomorrow (Thursday), which I much prefer to begging for a GP appointment and then having to deal with someone who, although medically qualified, knows less about COPD than I do. Cheers.

Hi vanessalee, I did get to the clinic today and saw my nurse. We discussed issues and I had bloods done (no results as yet as I did not wait). She pointed out I had the same blood tests done in January when I was an in patient over the New Year but was happy to order them for me again. There does not appear to be any clear reason why I am more easily out of breath. Nurse believes this may be linked to stress at work (agreed). I think the ankle swelling is probably closely linked to taking less exercise because of the shortness of breath. Maybe I need to consider retiring but I sooooooooooo do not want to. I think I would end up in hospital if I did - on a psychiatric ward - as sitting at home would drive me crazy. However, on the plus side, maybe if I retired I could take some I.T. lessons and manage to conquer computers, complicated photocopiers and digital cameras?

    Thanks for asking about me

    Jacee

    xx
