The one thing I would say is that if anyone is considering a procedure that is a complex mix of foot deformities it is worth having more than one opinion. Not all surgeons are a fan of keyhole bunion surgery for example. An extra consultation is another £250 but you can present x rays etc already produced. In London there are some excellent foot surgeons and surgical podiatrists and just three names that spring to mind are Ron McCulloch, Dishan Singh, Sam Singh.
Susan, have you thought about asking your Gp for a further referral but to an orthopaedic surgeon? I would go to the foot department of the Royal National orthopaedic dept where they have access to all the neurological tests too.
Be be careful about long second toe shortening because that can affect gait if you have a shorter first toe (Morton’s foot)
