I have this as well. In my case it's all part of my reflux. I'm planning to get LINX surgery soon to control the reflux and hope it gets fixed.

There are a lot of tests the doctors do and advice I needed though before getting to thus stage.

Reflux from the stomach to the oesophagus can progress full column and breach the upper osophageal sphincter. Entering the respiratory system it can reach the throat, nasal cavities and, via the eusatcahian tube, the ears.

Yes. Reflux that starts in the stomach can cause these and other symptoms you may not originally have considered were due to your reflux.

If you find the Extra-oesophageal reflux page of www DownWithAcid org uk, you will see explanations of these symptoms and a list of others and their prevalence in a recent survey.

Barrett's thank you very much this has caused me to have health anxiety and have been very worried I will have a look at the site I appreciate it

Why do you think its linked to reflux? My jaw pain was caused by the TMJ joint. I had a procedure to clean it out and its like new. Worth a trip to the dentist ,they can tell you if its that or something else.

I didn't think of it as being linked but YES I had this with the stomach issues.  My Jaw was killing me.  I'm on HRT now.  It seems to have calmed down. I've also avoided all stress related outings.  NOT NOW.  Maybe one day but not now. Diet much better as well.

Please help!!!! It started following a cold .... throat started hurting, then to swallow that eased but then a feeling of being strangled appeared. It now feels like that sometimes others like I have pglem stuck at the back of my throat. Ears feel blocked and occsssionaly my jaw aches. I suffer from anxiety and am worried it’s throat cancer. Have been to doctors who tell me there is no lumps or signs of this but have referred me to an ENT anyway although taking ages for my referral

So so worried. Any one had this before?

James!! Same situation over here! Sore throat won’t go away only on one side, goes into my neck, same side ear hurts and now jaw. De has me on Zantac for reflux which helps with the chest pains I was having. Originally thought I was having heart attack symptoms because that’s how they present in women. I’m 32 though and my dr is blaming my anxiety on everything. I have days where I’m convinced it’s esophageal cancer and I want to see an ent however my dr can’t find anything indicating anything serious. Like swollen glands or bumps. Please tell me it goes away?!

Hi, I have the exact symptoms! Its driving me crazy, I have no life now! Been this way for 6 months now!did you ever find out what was wrong?

Hi, Did you find a solution to your problems please? i have the same symptoms but with ver loud tinnitus too and palpitations!

Yes! I went to an ent and he used a scope and found out I have silent reflux and it had caused damage to my throat and eustacian tubes. (Causing reoccurring sore throat and ear issues) It also was causing the chest pains because it mimics heart attack symptoms. I was prescribed  150mg of ranitidine twice a day and my symptoms have finally cleared up! I am blown away that this one problem caused so many different symptoms but my ent explained it all to me and it made sense!

Hi, Thanks for answering my question. I went to see a specialist, he said it  was silent reflux too, He put me on 40mgs of omeprazole per day and it is not helping at all!  I am in agony and getting head pains too its awful! I am getting an endoscopy done soon, but don't see how that is going to help me!  I'm so glad you are okay now, did it take long for your meds to work?

it took a couple months to completely go away. i also found out that its somewhat common to also have your corrodid artery get irritated and inflamed and cause the same symptoms. good luck!!
