Jaw pain and numbness

Always posting in here, anxiety makes me insane! 😂 Anyway, has anyone ever had jaw pain or numbness due to anxiety? I have TMJ and I thought maybe this could be contributing so the pain made sense when I first felt it upon waking up...but now it is numb on both sides. VERY strange and scary.

I use a soft mouth splint to help this from a maxillary surgeon. Oh boy does this cause a lot of strange symptoms. It can get scary. Jaw numbness, tingling, ear stuff, headaches..such headaches. I use arnica and tumeric oil on my jaw. Its the sleeping positions that are hard. If you havent seen a maxillary surgeon might be really helpful. They didnt cut anything on me they just do tmjd stuff.

Yes, bedore and every now and then. I think its clenching with a bad sleep, position. The tingling scared the daylights out of me. Its all difficult. The mouth splint helps a lot but they are costly and i need new ones evry 9-12 mouth. I clenched thru it. They made it thick too. I have been thinking about acupuncture for it if i get uo the nerve. The surgeon gives Botox but said she wouldnt do it on her tmj so that killed that idea.

If you dont have a mouth splint at all i hope you get one made up. I cant imagine how sever it is with no gaurd.

i hope you feel better. It is awful.

I have PSA in both sides of the Jaw, and I have problems opening my mouth. I need sedation when I go to the Dentist I am overweight and sometimes it can be a full operation as somtimes sedation is more risky. They take over my breathing and is can make you wonder what is really going on.

Try exercising your jaw, put left/right fingers next to the joint where it joins onto the skull , under the ears and move your jaw around, then open your mouth a bit, and continue the exersise, Just do it for a few mins, couple of times a day, be careful though. It may reduce the pain

I also have a splint that rests on the casp of the teeth, the trouble with me is my overbite, it cracks the splint or puts a hole on top of one or two teeth
