    Hi Alison,

I'll spare my long history of osteomyelitis in maxilla (you can read in my previous posts on this site) & the almost 2yrs it went misdiagnosed by many dentists & oral/ENT surgeons despite my insistence I had infection.

It's very possible you have osteomyelitis/osteonecrosis & need debridement & long course of oral &/or IV antibiotics.

Only way to tell is CT/MRI &/or nuclear bone scan. All dentists & private practice oral surgeons are totally unequipted to treat this condition comprehensively. Based on my hard lessons you need to be in a hospital setting w/infectious disease specialist. I know that sounds scary, but a bone infection can become very serious in an otherwise healthy person (like in my case).

There are many other variables, but bottom line is YOU must be proactive & persistent or nothing will happen.

Feel free to msg me directly if you wanna talk more.

I was in your position 4 yrs ago. Also educate yourself. If I hadn't 1/2 of my upper jaw would be gone, no exaggeration.

    Best,

    Jamie

Hi Alison, what was the outcome with this? I am in the UK also and struggling to be taken seriously with this. I'm scared and don't know where to turn to. I've seen countless dentists and my local maxfax department where I was referred to won't take me seriously and have sent me to have an ultrasound- despite my insistence that there is an infection.

    Hello,

I'd like to know how your story ended. I also have a dry socket with a jawbone pain for a month and it is not improving.

Please, tell me it got healed and the pain is gone:)

    Thank you.
