Jerking arms and legs?

Posted , 12 users are following.

Does anyone here have strange feelings in their muscles or jerking and twitching muscles? Today I can feel the muscles across my back together with my arms and lower legs pulsating and vibrating. Also since August my muscles have been twitching and jerking. My neuro is puzzled and although I can cope with pain and stiffness I really don't like these feelings.

    Hi Caroline

I have the same thing, not sure what it is but it feels really strange. I can feel it in my back when I'm sitting/laying down.

Hi Lucy, from what I can gather it is a pretty rare symptom of fibro. It really does feel strange. Do you have any twitches or jerking? And are you taking anything when it becomes really unbearable?

I'm not taking anything for it at the minute, it's something I haven't really mentioned to any of the doctors I've seen as I've had that many problems going on that sometimes I forget to mention some of them. I do get twitching and jerking sometimes too, when I wake up from a nap I can feel my body trembling, it's really weird! I also had a twitch in my face that lasted over a week, it was driving me mad.

Thank you tiswas, I've been taking magnesium malate for a while now and recently started on vit D as well as taking a multivit and chia and flaxseed for the omegas. I will look for magnesium oil too and give that a go.

I get twitching in my eyes, shoulders ( like a fluttery sensation ) just before I suffer a muscle spasm, and I get twitchy thighs too - very annoying, and painful if accompanied by a muscle spasm.

These sensations are very strange, I get twitching in my eyes and on one eyebrow. I also have a very strange fluttering in my shoulder blades. And severe pain in my right collar bone..

I said to my husband, if I were an animal I would have been put down..

Have a good day if you can, I am not good today.Anne..

Thank you for taking time to reply especially when you're not too good today. The flutterings, buzziness etc must be down to the nervous system being over excited. It's good to hear from others who are experiencing these strange feelings as my GP thinks it's due to anxiety!! And my neuro is puzzled. I only used to get the jerking at rest but now my arm and shoulder jerk when I'm eating.

Hi Caroline I have twitches in my arms and legs occasionally my body. I'm on Pregabalin and other Fibro sufferers have said that it's one of its side effects. It's so annoying especially when your hand is hovering over a keyboard, it causes a lot of mistakes! I tried coming off Pregabalin but the pain was so intense that I went back on. When I say went off I mean decreasing my dose and when I said went back on, I mean increasing my dose, just to clarif. S xx

Hi sukest, I am also on Pregabalin, 225mg twice daily, and have the same symptoms you describe, particularly as you say about the hovering over a keyboard. My job involves inputting figures and it is very easy to make mistakes. I also get big twitches in my abdominal muscles which feels really weird, and the ones in my hands have caused me to spill drinks on occasion.

Hi Jeanne, you poor thing I know how frustrating it is to have these twitches make you do mistakes, but mine is doing my crossword or ordering my groceries, unlike you where it is your job!!  One person on here has said that they have these twitchers but that they are not taking any drugs. I however, still match the twitches with the taking of  Pregabalin, and other people have said the same but it was on another site. It's just not fair we need drugs to help us with so many different health problems, which is difficult enough without having to endure their side effects as well. S xx
