I slowly convincing myself that orthopaedic doctors are miss diagnosing OA for RA or other auto immune issues. Obviously they can't diagnose something they are not familiar with. Were you checked out before knee surgery and if so what were your numbers before and after(erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR, or sed rate) or C-reactive protein (CRP)). Curious as well, did you wake up one day and both knees have pain? Did it change? Get bad worse? Just knee pain? Thanks.

I saw a rheumatologist and see diagnosed me with RA its in both my ankles /shoulders /wrist/hips and have synovitis in both knees as well my sedrate is 28 and always have been somewhat elevated my crp was normal and a positive ANA . I had bilateral knee replacement in 2015 and was back at work in 6 weeks but slowly started to have more and more joint pain and had a revision 11/19 due to debonding of the cement after that it was open field for the jointpain it has tripled so hope this answers you question ps I am a healthy 60 yr old
