Hi Jollyjack. How early is it? Normally a bone scan would not be considered if the MRI shows it contained within the capsule. Have you had a biopsy yet? It would be clear from that how agressive it is and therefore whether a bone scan is necessary/urgent. What do you mean by a time delay

      Hi Jollyjack,

The good news is that it is pretty low level agression. I assume it was an MRI scan... depending on the MRI and on the Imaging expert reading it you should have a T, N and M score from that?

What you've said so far makes it sound reasonably low risk (likely to be an N0, M0 - not lymphatic /metastatic disease) but the level of risk very much depends on the the tumour stage (T score).

    Jollyjack,

what kind of early Ca you have?

What is your biopsy result, how many cores were taken, how many are positive and percentages?

Tell us more about your Ca so we can give you some info and what are our thoughts?

Don't panic, take deep breath and let emotions to settle?

I am also diagnosed with prostate Ca. Had my biopsy is August, Gleason score 7 (4+3), 1 of 12 positive. Scheduled for surgery RRP on November 2nd.

    Take care,

    MK

Alfred5. I have been reading these messages and I have to say like you the Mayo said the MRI showed it contained no reson for a bone scan.

A bone scan seems to be a routine procedure even if there is very little chance of spread.

You don't mention your age which would have some bearing on your treatment options.

    All the best.
