Delighted to hear everything is going well for you. Let us know how you are progressing. As you know I fell last April and walking now without cruches I take a stick with me when going for a walk as I still swell a lot around ankle not where I broke the bone.I walk for 40minutes every day. No one ever suggested putting in pin so I am interested in how it works for you.let us know how you get on I was 10 weeks in airboot nonweight bearing but since started putting weight on there is progress every week when I go to phisio. Hope you keep improving and xray is good in 2 weeks.keep in touch.

I wish I had put a pin in sooner. waited 4 weeks to see if it would heal but, now I understand insurance wants you to wait. Since I am a rider and walker like you, my ortho foot and ankle specialist suggested  going ahead with surgery so it would not recur. Seems Jones fractures do. Surgery was so easy, took 45 minutes, they put a 30 hour block in so I literally had no pain after the block wore off. I do have a foot and ankle orthopedic doctor. they seem to put a length wise pin in where podiatrist put in a cross wise one  that sometimes works it's way out. Since my husband is a retired doc, we seem to go the MD route but, I know many who love podiatrists. My legs have never been this atrophyed. Now has been 6 weeks and will be another 2 non weight bearing. I think we are same age as I remember. Let me know how you are as well. You gave me lots of hope in your posts before hand. Thanks.

You are encouraging me!! Wow this is such a slow going healing. I have had ACL surgery and a complete shoulder replacement (all rider wear and tear) but being non weight bearing is the absolute worst, is it not?? So happy you are coming along!!
