Journey leaving hospital?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi

Im looking at surgery for severe stenosis l4/l5 - herniated disc, possible fusion.

Read so many threads about the recovery side of things but never seen anything specifically about getting home from hospital after surgery, journey wise.

I've read you shouldn't sit down for more that 15mins at a time etc etc.

But I have a 200 mile car journey when I get out! Normally we get out for a stretch but wonder if will I be fit to to that.

Anyone had experience of a long car journey leaving the hospital?

(Also worried it might cause damage.)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

ps, I'm 70 but not decrepit!!
