Joy in the body after THR.

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have two hip replacements, one done five years ago and the other nearly two years ago. Despite problems with the ceramic one making noises and the other giving me discomfort if I overdo it, tonight I had an old Trance Nation CD on and I was dancing like a diva. Sheer pleasure and joy in the body. That went before the ops and I got it back pretty soon after. So for all you waiting for the op and those in early recovery, there is light at the end of the tunnel of pain. Dance, dance wherever you may be!

Hurray.. For you Julliet..Dancing again and THANKX for spreading the joy..music is so uplifting it brings the spring back in the dance steps.. you sound happy and encouraging . What a great story to share .u r an inspiration for all the newbies joining the hippie club!

Just a quick story to share...A short horse tail.... After my first hip 14 years ago I had some limitations remembering how my life was pretty much back to normal after THR..within 12-14 months. I was eager to get back in the saddle again. I was able to hop up on my Tenneessee Walker for a slow walkies on the trails.  He's old and arthritic too. He loves to get out for our walkies . We pick up each other's spirits ...a lot like music.. As they say walking is good for arthritis of any kind and so true . My furry angel is happy to get out especially during blackberry season.  It's so amazing he just leads the way I'm just along for for the ride. These trails we have traveled for years.

Now after in the present  both my hips are replaced he is still my walkies partner. He's my hero has much more arthtitis in his ole bones at 32 yrs old he still is my trail partner. We have grown old together in a odd sort of way. I remember not to long ago when he was a young colt just full of it. Now when he lays down to get up he struggles, bones creak and crack....we are partners . I don't know how much time we have left together I am grateful for his magical healing power. He lifts my spirits..

We all can find JOY... We are partners too!

Sometimes we have to make choices and sometime the choices make us...it's what we learn and how we cope that makes those struggles worth the choice.

Everything you said about our four legged friends is so true, they certainly do raise our spirits, this forum also has raised my spirits.  Thank you so much.
