Jumping off of left leg has caused lower back pain under one of the bones on the left side

So yesterday, I was just doing a drill for basketball and went up for a dunk jumping off my left leg and when I came down, it felt weird and painful. The next day, I went to my athletic trainer who informed me that it was a muscle imbalance and tried readjusting both the right sides by pressuring hip muscles and mobilizing my legs. It felt fine after a few minutes and I was told that I could return to my normal activities. But after around 10 minutes the pain came back, and the athletic trainer had already left. I dont really know what I should do and if I would be able to participate in an event that requires jumping a lot as soon as tomorrow. I am just curious and just want to take precaution from avoiding any serious injuries.
