Jumps in my sleep.

So I never had this problem at all, it started a year and a half ago ever since my grandfather died, most nights I will get a tight chest and then when I try to fall asleep my breathing will go so low that I will jump from my sleep, it takes a while some nights just to get sleep. I am getting to the point where I am going insane with this problem, I really need some guidance on this, I had surgery 4 years ago in my chest which was major because my chest was deformed and I was going tbroguh depression and panic attacks, maybe it is my body not accepting the fact that I am fine or some sort of PTSD I really don't know. But I can't keep living like this where I am jumping in my sleep. Anyone with advice will be great.

Hi.  Do you snore? Are you overweight?  You say your breathing will "go very low."  Your body is probably startling you to wake up since you are not getting enough oxygen.  You should get a sleep study as soon as possible.  Have them check your oxygen levels through the night for desaturation.  You can also pick up a pulse oximeter to wear on your wrist.  Look up "Prince 100-H oximeter"  You can monitor your own o2 and pulse.
