i have been having lower left sided abdomen pain for the last 17 months been to a and e and was told it was kidney stones, last week the pain became so intense that i went back to the hospital they did a ct scan to look for stones and found a large ovarian cyst, i was admitted to hospital and told that i would need surgery, i am overweight and have a degenerative spinal disease and have to use a wheelchair so was told that the operation would need planning due to my complex health issues which also include bladder neuropathy, i was in hospital for six days waiting for an mri scan and was told the same thing by every doctor on the ward rounds, until the sixth day when a female doctor informed me that they would not operate as i was obese and in her words probably wouldnt make it off the operating table, she said that i should go home and basically learn to live with the pain, i was upset and also angry, luckily i had an appointment the next day with my consultant gyn who was apalled and reassured me that any complications such as embolisms, chest infections etc would be managed accordingly and that he was going to discuss the surgery at a meeting and would let me know what had been decided, i am so mixed up, the pain is relentless, even morphine which i take for my spine isnt touching it, it comes on in waves and builds to i feel like i cant take anymore, the pain is now in my shoulder and down my left leg, i cant sleep as it keeps me awake, tbh i am frightened to go back to a and e after being made to feel like a freak, i lost my youngest daughter suddenly in her sleep a year ago she was 17 and i am having panic attacks and have gained a lot of weight since then, i really need some support of ladies who are experiencing this pain and advice about surgery etc, thank you for taking the time to read this
