Just been diagnosed with ovarian cyst

I have just found out that I have a 9cm ovarian cyst. As my pain comes and goes I have to be put on the waiting list to have removed. Just wondering what other experiences people have had? Thanks

You don't get many replies on this site . I have a cyst and womb thickening . The cyst stings and aches but the gynaecologist yesterday said that pain wouldn't be from the cyst was I sure I didn't have a urine infection ? Even tho the pain is right over my ovaries ! I know it's the cyst ! Did not mention removing it but I have to have a hysteroscopy on womb

Hi Joanne. I had an ovarian cyst removed along with ovaries and tubes last year. My choice as my mother had ovarian cancer and I preferred not risk that! You will probably be monitored for awhile to see whether it/they grow or just disappear on their own, some do, it depends what type they are. Mine was 7cms, if they get bigger than about 6-7 it's unlikely they will burst or shrink, hence the monitoring. Just go with your gynae surgeon, it's unlikely you will be admitted quickly due to waiting times, (UK) Don't know about anywhere else. Good luck! x rolleyes

    Hi Joanne,

I was diagnosed with a 10cm cyst on my left ovary in the middle of February. I was put on a waiting list to have it removed and I go for my surgery this Thursday (6th July). I have massive problems with mine - the pain becomes unbearable sometimes and I actually ended up in A&E a few weeks ago.

    Hope you get seen soon!
