Don't get fobbed off by GP's or Registrars, if you can insist on seeing Consultant and reiterate how you are a mum of 3 and desperately need something done asap and remember to say how it is affecting you mentally as well as physcially.  We have been lucky with our fab GP but if you aren't happy with the responses from your GP then try elsewhere or become insistent.

Hi khi smile , thanks for reply my gp is actually good she refured me to a specialist and I actually got sent private for a scan to get seen quicker. My doctor has just got my mri results back and I'm being sent for physio and refured to pain management but the problem being is the doc originally thought my spine was pressing on a nerve and that was the reason for the legs and arm issues but mri said it's not the case. Just wondering if anybody else has these issues ?? Just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel sad xx

Hi, not sure if I can help but I can sympathise with your pain. I'm a 25 female and always been healthy. Two months ago started with terrible back ache then got numbness in my left leg bum and private area. This would change to pain or a tingly feeling. Trouble with having a wee too so wasn't pleasant. They thought it could be cauda equina so had mri but came back ok. Referred to physio. I've just started and he is brilliant. Looked at me as doctors said must be to do with muscles, but physio examined me and thinks it's spondylilosithethis. (Excuse my spelling) he pressed on my spine and it was agony right at the bottom. So waiting for xray to confirm, but he was a life saver. Your problems sound similar to mine. I'm unable to Bend or bath or dress myself, and I use a crutch to help me walk. Hope you start to feel better soon.

I've looked it up as was sure doctors would have picked it up rather than physio, but that doesn't tend to show on an mri when lying down as that's what I had.

Hi squeek . Sorry to here ur similar to me. I have always had back pain but nothing like this. Mine started with num feet then traveled up my legs nd in my back I too was having issues to pee lol. My mri showed my issues up that's how I know what's wrong. Nd I think urs is different thing to mine as there is 3 similar spondylosis names but all different, but we just have the pretty same things going on.  Feel ur pain nothing worse than having issues with back no matter what u do its painful. I too struggle with some things especially when I'm having a bad day, my husband is very helpful though helping me get in the bath nd house work, nd undress when needed. I wish I had a stick to walk with as I'm having issues with my hips too ATM, taken my boy to school which is about 5minutes walk takes me 10 nd feel like I've ran a marathon so painful nd I'm extremely tiered. Told the doc 'if I was a dog I'd be put down. Lol. Hopefully we get sorted out soon eh. I'm waiting for my physio appointment . Take care hun xx

Yes different things, but I wouldn't wish is pain on anyone, however it's nice to speak to someone who understands what your going through. I would see if you could get a crutch. Some days I need it for support but I take it with me when I am around the house alone incase my leg gives in and I fall as I wouldn't be able to get up myself. I have been off work now for two months and gp said I'm unable to return and signing me off again. It just gets very frustrating not being able to do anything. I completely understand how you feel after your school trips. My gp is five mins walk takes a lot longer and the worst pain for a couple of hours when I get back. Hope you start to feel better soon Hun xxx

    hi

i too suffer with spondylosis i started when i was in my early teen's through lifting patients when i was nursing im now 62 but im sory to tell you there is no cure for this diseae except physo and pain killers i get terrible pins and needles in my hand pain all down my arms shoulders and lower back pain some days i can't get out of bed without the help of my husband i hurt so much its just like toothacke i went to the pain managment clinic they lent me a tens machine but that was a waste of time i take co-drydomol 2 every 4 hrs i have even had to lay with my arm's upon my pillow as you get older it deteriates i walk with an hunch back shoulder now it caused 5 verterbra's to go like a cusion thats gone flat one surgon told me he could give me an injection in my back but when i went for it doing they told me i couldn't have it done as it was too close to my siatic nerve i was devastated i got so hyped up for that it would have give me 6 month of ease but i now have learned to live with it.

i feel sorry for all of you been so young like i was and not knowing what i was going to face when i got older i was under a neurologist for yrs trying me on different drugs too before the pain clinic its finally gone into my legs now so sorry to you all looks like medication for you same as me i would have thought this day an age they would have found a cure but to no avail .

i have had loads of different pain killers but none works really.

    take care to you all
