well here goes, never thought I'd be joining this forum, just been told after 4 UTI's in 12 months, and after a prostate biopcie , that I have a Gleason score of 3+3 , seen a consultant and told to come back in 3 months for a blood test to check my PSA,  it's 13 now, but he says its a faults reading as I've just had the biopcie. My question is , what's a normal PSA reading, and should I be worried about dying, in the near future.

Hi I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer two years ago my gleeson score is 3+4 and my PSA is 10.2 now. I have been watch and wait .My problem is when I go to see my consultant he is not interested in what I have to say he just wants to here himself speak. I have asked to be seen at a different hospital under a different consultant to see if I get treated any better, at the moment I am trying colloidal silver once per day and baking soda and mulasses once per day, check them out see what you think, when the consultants not doing anything you just have to try things yourself..............good luck

Definitely get a different consultant - there are good ones out there. You don't mention your age. I have not tried baking soda but it sounds a good way to get your acidity down.

      all the best

Hi David I'm 64 and still fighting fit. I am looking at different ways of bringing my prostrate cancer under control, when I first seen my consultant my psa was 4.2 so he said I had to have a biopsy I didn't know very much at the start so I agreed, it nearly killed me blood poisoning I was in a terrible state. I was offered two cures by him for the prostrate one was radical removal of the prostrate and the other was beam therapy radiation. I checked the different websites and found lots of different things that can be done on my next visit I asked about various treatments and the macmillan nurse said in an agressive voice don't believe what is said on the internet. I have just recieved an apointment at the Walsgrave in Coventry on the 14th of this month so I will keep you posted. I will not give up I have two little boys to bring up and I will. will chat later.......Ray
