Just diagnosed today, don't know what to do?

I found out today that i have genital herpes that I contracted from my current boyfriend. I'm completely devastated because i'm always careful with using condoms and he never disclosed that he had it. I'm just feeling incredibly isolated and depressed because i know that this will impact me for the rest of my life. I don't know what to do

It's a possibility that he didn't even know. A lot of people don't have symptoms right away.

You don't have to feel depressed. You aren't dirty or unclean, you just happened to be exposed to the virus.

Though it does change your medical records, it shouldn't change your heart. People live healthy lives with it, and outbreaks might happen just once or twice.

Hopefully this doesn't change the way you feel about your boyfriend, work through it if you can and remember he's dealing with it as well.

The hard truth is you will have it forever and nothing will change it. What I'm saying is, worrying wont help. If something itll make it worse. In the end herpes isnt such a big deal, you might get an outbreak every now and then. You have it and thats it. What to do? learn to live with it its the only option

I had a ex who had herpes didn't tell me and then he cheated gave me warts but herpes i didn't get he never told me he had herpes .

I believe they do know they have it like my cheating ex .

2013 since has changed my life but what can we do ? we can't do anything .

I get down because I'm 36 and I want kids but I cant tell any bloke ever unless they had it also .

its changed everything but you cant beat your self up .

it gets less in time I've 1 outbreak a year

it will slow down the first 2 years are the worst of it .

take vitamins for your immune system this is vital it's the immune system that causes outbreaks .
