Just diagnosed with HSV2. What now?

Hi everyone,

After a week of high grade fevers and a lot of pain, my doctor was finally able to give me an answer on what had been making me so sick; herpes. It definitely came out of the blue and I'm having a really painful and intense first outbreak. Apparently I've probably had it for years and it just now became symptomatic.

I'd really love some advice on where to go from here. I know herpes is technically super common but I still feel blindsided and am in a bit of shock. I literally was diagnosed about an hour ago and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Any help or thoughts would be really appreciated.

Thank you

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. My doctor swabbed the blisters I had and was able to confirm from that.
