Just diagnosed with MC

My 4 year old son has just been diagnosed with MC and I didn't realise how awful if can actually be until I came home from the doctors and did some research - I was told that it might be a good idea not to share towels but that he was fine to be around other children and even to go swimming! (now i'm not so sure about the swimming and we definitely will be having seperate towels).
Where do I go for the treatments that you suggest - can you buy them over the counter? I have heard of tea tree oil but i wouldn't know it which form to use it.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

My 8 yr old daughter developed what I thought were a couple of skin tags on her neck about 6 plus months ago, she then got a couple of other spots near her eyes! I took her to the GP as I thought they were spreading and the first 2 had become large and very prominent. My GP thought they were warts and said he could freeze them off but didn't like doing that to children under 12yrs as it was distressful. He refered me to another GP who said there were molluscum contagiosum which I had never heard of! She said do nothing they will go away on their own in a few months!. (She didn't tell me not to share towels or anything).
So, I explored the internet for advice. If they go away on their own then why, after 7 months was my daughter getting more and more spots? The original ones were getting bigger, and more cropped up quickly. This became stressful for my daughter at school, they ARE after all infectious! She started holding her hand over her spots and it upset me a lot.
Wanting to be pro-active I armed myself with info. One report I read from a UK Dermatolagist suggested upping immune boosting foods and extra vitamins - so I bought childrens A.C.E.D. one a day vitamins (my daughter isn't good at vegetables) I gave her her own towel to keep in her room away from the bathroom. and then as suggested I treated the horrid spots with BETADINE paint on lotion. I had to get this online as Tesco chemist said they dont stock that! It does have iodine in it which it perhaps why but on the box it says suitable for over 3 yrs. (I ordered it from Expresschemist.co.uk - they are in Brighton) It cost 1.75.
I applied this yellow lotion at night every night for 2 weeks, after squeezing out the cheesy white infectious pus. Not nice , but if you don't get this out then the infection is still there. You do need to be very careful when doing this ,I used disposable gloves and only touched her skin through a tissue. After 6 weeks she has one small shrunken tag and I treat it twice a week.
I worry that more spots are lurking under the skin as these little blighters take a long time to erupt - but I will treat them quickly before they get as big . Hope this helps. I have 4 children and this is the first time I have seen this horrid complaint!
Cheers
