just diagnosed with RA

i have just been diagnosed with ra last year was the most painful i have had last monday i had a steroid injection si things have eased up a lot but i have been given sulfasalazine 500 to start taking tomorrow thursday i am worried about side effects is anyone else on these carol24346

    Carol, most people with RA are started off on this drug,hope it does you some good.

      thank you today i start this drug i felt better after the steroid injection on monday  but i read  about side affects this worrys me

    Hi Carol, I have been taking sulphsalazine for about a month in combination with methotrexate 20 mg a week and prednisone 15 mg a day.  I have noticed improvement in that time but won't know if the sulphsalazine helped until I start rerducing the prednisone in a few weeks time.
