Just fed up

As some of you know who read my last post, in the last 12 months I've put on 1 1/2 stone since being told I have fibro and I constantly crave sugar and chocolate. It's got to the point where something has to change. I made the decision that today would be the day and attempt some light exercise and try and avoid all junk food. Well I've woke up this morning with terrible back ache and so tired. I feel so fed up that this has happened. On one hand I think push through it but on the other I think my body won't cope. It's so depressing

Feeling your pain. It's a vicious circle for me, pain makes me down then I comfort eat. Some mornings are worse than others and this damp miserable weather doesn't help either. So annoying how this can just come on. I was fine until I had my son when I was 37 and since then I've been troubled with pain. Wish it would go away as quick as it came x

    Hi Katherine

I feel for you I was the same but now I positive think.  Instead of buiscuits or cakes etc try fruit sweet fruit if you crave sweet things.  I am now losing weight with a balanced diet of just 3 meals a day if I feel peckish in between I choose fruit.  Damp wet or cold weather doesn't help pain.  I use a hot water bottle in bed for pain.

I really sympathise Katharine.  Throughout my life I've never had a 'sweet tooth' , never taken sugar in hot drinks, disliked cakes or candy and only ever ate dark unsweetened chocolate.  In the last year since I've been in so much pain, I just crave sweet stuff and even eat nasty cheap 'milk' chocolate - my palate has completely changed and its not just comfort eating, I actually have sugar cravings which is very weird for me.  I'm sure this is physiological and not just psychological but my doctors just tell me to do things to take my mind off it - not at all helpful.

I have just been told  this morning I have fibromyalgia, I knew it was not just osteoarthitis I have that in lower back, I have been having terrible muscle weakness in arms shoulders I felt very ill last week, but Before I knew I had Fibo I started to exercise and like you I felt terrible next day but I have still been doing them and for the first time I have noticed I have a lot more energy, been eating quite healthy as well and drinking loads of water, I still have weakness and pain but it has eased. Do you take any medications?

I know how you feel I use to be quiet active and loved to excerise, excerise fatigue was the first symptom i noticed. I would ride my bike for 30 klms on a good day but after the 3 or forth day my legs would feel like lead weights and i would be so tired a couple of weeks would go by and i would feel a bit better so i would try again same thing this went on for a couple of months the finally the fatigue seemed to be constant with legs feeling like lead. Also like you I was never much of a sweet tooth a block of chocolate could sit in my fridge for weeks before i finished it normally just having a piece here and there NOW OMG it doesnt last a day and most nights i have to have dessert. needless to say i am now nudging 100kg when i use to sit between 60 and 70 kg. I try to excerise but i am so tired and sore the next day but I am going to try walking again because my muscles are shinking and getting weaker. I hope today you feel better
