They used a new protocol which was less drops than what my hubby had a couple of months ago
He felt nothing. I felt the incisions and the lens insertion. Lets just say i didnt like it very much at all. The versed kept me calm but my experience was nothing like my hubbys and it was at the sane surgical center and the same surgeon

I had one eye done in a hospital and got sedation via an IV. Not sure what it was. It didn't put me totally out, but I was not really aware of much of what was going on. My nose got itchy at one point and I tried to scratch it. I recall being told not to do that, and that they were almost done. That was about it.
.
My second eye was done in a clinic with a full tablet of Ativan dissolved under my tongue. During this procedure I was much more aware of what was going on.
.
I can't say I felt any pain, just a bit of pressure in either proceedure. Both operations were done by the same surgeon and many drops were given right before the procedure. I did not do any drops in the days leading up to the procedure, but administered drops in the 21 days following.
.
If I had more eyes to do, I would be OK with either procedure again. Fortunately I don't have any more eyes, and hopefully never have to have the procedure done again.

How many drops did they put in your eye compared to your husbands? I want to make sure I get the stronger amount.
What Monofoca/Multifocal l did you get and how do you like it so far?

I want to make sure I get enough drops but 20 does sound like a lot. Would not like to feel lots of pressure. Did the bright light bother you? Which Monofocal did you get? Thanks!

That is good to hear about the bright light as I was worried about that. I am debating about Clareon versus Eyhance.

It sounds like they didn't put enough numbing drops in - did you say anything at the time?
I had IV sedation: for the first eye I was vaguely aware of what was going on, but felt and cared about nothing. For the second eye I was out cold.

I was told I would get a mild IV sedation called Versed. Why were you out cold? Did they increase the sedation and what how much did you get originally?

It was a different anesthesiologist the second time, and I didn't question him as to dosage. Bodies aren't machines, they react differently at different times. I woke up quickly afterwards. It was all good. 😃

I had Versed. It's over and done before you know it.

It is a quick operation which is the highlight. 15 minutes in the current world zips by really fast in a normal day.
