Hi l just had first cataract surgery with vivity iol in the left non dominant eye , it waS A toric 20.5 D and l think it was adjusted slightly -0.5 for mini monovision. My puplil is still very englarged . So far after a few hours the vision in the left eye looks a bit foggy or misty . l can see everything but it looks a bit like looking through mistly glasses ALso when l look with both eyes things seem a bit off balance and l see double , for example reading l see double words , IS this normal after a few hours and will get better. ? The surgery was totally painless but l think l heard him say he put stiches in , but not sure, is that something to worry about if he needed to use stiches, but after the operation he said it went well

For me it took until the next day for the pupil size to return to normal and then vision was a lot better.
Get a good night's sleep and check again tomorrow.

My Pupil is still very englarged from the surgery, but l noticed to image quality is getting less misty and better as time goes on, the main thing that bothers me is my operated eye and non operated eye feel a bit off balance and l see double slightly , is this something that will get better as the pupil moves from enlarged back to normal or could it be a case of the operated eye at 20.5D and -0.5 D is off balance or a different power from my non-operated eye, will this feeling of off balace either get better as l adjust or will it get better once my other eye is operated on , that eye will be plano at 19.5D

Everything sounds pretty standard. The normal practice is to see your surgeon 24 hours after surgery. Have you seen the surgeon yet? That is a good time to ask any questions you have.

All very normal… and actually to be expected just hours after surgery.

when l woke up this morning everything looks alot better, its no longer misty and it looks alot less off balance, everthing in my new vivity eye now looks alot clearer and sharper then my non operated eye. Also for those who are worried, the operation was 100% painless and the next day after theres no pain but there is bit of an irritation feeling that gets better over time

The vision from vivity after 3 days is fantastic , far better then l thought, l have great sharp clear vision from reading near , intermediate to distance in the eye , its like the vision l had when l was in my 20's.
l still have some slight pain and itching , is that normal. l think he had to put some stiches in , why would that be? do the stiches usually dissolve or do they have to be taken out, but he said the operation went great

Normally stitches are not used. Perhaps for some reason the incision needed to be larger than standard. That could be the reason for the itching. I am not aware of whether or not they need to be removed. I suspect not. Did you have a post surgery exam by your surgeon? That would be the time to ask these questions.

The itching is the incision and/or dry eye. Total normal and could take up to 2 week or so to dissipate. There are no stitches in routine cataract surgery.
