Just had colonoscopy

All went well with my colonoscopy. The letter I received afterwards stated moderate Diverticular Disease seen throughout the colon mostly in the sigmoid colon. I have an appointment to see the specialist in two weeks but wondered if anyone has any ideas on what will happen/what this means. Thanks 🙏🏼

That’s what mine usually says and it’s been 20 years so I would not expect him to recommend anything.  You’ll probably get a flare up now and again but I wouldn’t worry.

Linda. The specialist either a gastroenterologist or a colorectal surgeon as it is one of these who probably did your examination. The consultation is an opportunity to get as much detailed information as you can possibly get, listen carefully and possibly take notes. (Have a friend with you). You need to try and find out how bad your disease is and how he /she thinks it will progress and how it should be treated. Do you need a CT scan?

Get advice on diet but everybody reacts differently to different diets. Also, what action to take if there is a painful infection which I believe some people call a flare up. Make sure your regular Dr is also fully aware about what you plan to do and that they are in agreement.
