Thanks crissy-wissy just checking on various forums that 2-6 weeks after pre-op was the norm. I'm in so much pain at moment it's depressing ,so I got my hopes built up thinking I would have the op soon

Word of advice.. If they offer you somewhere else sooner don't do it if u can't travel easy. I was meant to get mine in Aberdeen but had to wait months so they offered to send me private in Dundee and nhs would pay.. I took it had op sent home (3 hrs) on a train and couldn't walk to find out no other surgeon will look at another surgeons work which wasn't handy nerveI took nerve pain...I had my op 9 months ago and got a local X-ray at six months but never found out if anything was out of place. Have never seen anyone since op . Don't even have a number for surgeon coz he didn't usually work at hospital I had op...

Hi. Had my pre-op yesterday and op is June 19th so five weeks away. Like you am in horrible pain and life on hold so I sympathise completely and hope you get done much sooner than August. Are you able to go for a cancellaion if one's offered? My dad, who is in his eighties, could have been waiting months but badgered the hospital most days and was given a cancellation slot really quickly so try that. Worked for him!

I can really understand how you feel.  I had my pre op and was told I was good to go.  I was due to have my op 2 weeks ago. But then I got a call to say the anaestetist wanted me to have an echo done on my heart because there was a slight irregularity with my ECG and the echo isn't until 29th May.  I understand they need to be sure about things but you get yourself all psyched up only to be told your on holdfrown  I was worried about having my pre op again but was told I was fine cause it lasted 90 days. Theyve 'promised' me that i will be in the week after my echo but who knows!  That does seem a long wait for you but take advantage of the time and get everything ready at home.  I've taken the extra time to lose some more Ilbs smile

I had mine the beginning of October, and took a cancellation the week before Xmas! I would ring the waiting list and say you can go in at short notice. (48 hrs)
