Just had total knee replacement 1 week ago. Anyone out there going through this

I had a very successful surgery but got sick from the pain medication - tramadol and oxycondone. Pain meds have been removed and I am now on Tylenol and aspirin only. Started PT and boy, is that an eye opener. Very intense. Painful. I feel I have a long way to go. Still very swollen and so very tender. Do not sleep well at night. Wondering how long it is before I become one of those patients I see at PT who "walzes" in seemingly with ease and works out on the bike?? Will I ever get there? Any advice from anyone going through this would be appreciated. I'm a 69 Y.O grandmother. Live on a lake in northern Minnesota and am missing out onall lake activities to go through this. Hope it's worth it!

Just curious.....when in the process did you start swimming? I'm on a walker at the moment so that might not work out until I progress to my own feet. LOL. You must be glad you did this or you wouldn't be thinking of the other knee. Good luck. Lynne

Yes I've never felt better. Actually I am getting a shoulder replacement on the 27th of this month and after I'm healed from that I will be ready I only used my walker for about two weeks I didn't go swimming until about two months after my knee replacement
