Good morning, do you mean you cannot raise your leg even slightly when say standing, lifting your leg up onto bed is really hard as your muscles are not working and you need this to lift your leg straight up, I hook my good foot under bad and lift it onto bed that way, you want be kept in too long I wouldn't think, how old are you and are you fit otherwise

warm welcome to our forum of hippies where we share pesonal stories and experiences ..
I am assuming that you had total hip replacement one week ago and recently was discharged to rehab facility ...
did you have physical therapy in the hospital? there is where they show you how to get out and in to bed, start walking and going to the toilet without assistance ..
how are you doing it now? is someone helping you?
Staples are usually removed around 14 days post-op when scar should be closed and dry - I had 2 THR surgeries 6 months apart and staples were removed in one visit -
you just had major surgery and your body is healing - did you have anterior or posterior approach?
during surgery your hip joint needed to be forcefully dislocated and femur cut to allow steel rod to be placed...
are you full weight bearing? do you have to wear TED stockings and are you on bloodthinning medication?
how about pain medication ? it is adviced to be ahead of the pain in the first couple of weeks and take the pain meds as prescribed -
please come back here and tell us more about yourself ...
you are not alone anymore
big warm hug

It's the healing process as the inflammatory process tends to really cause pain.I really find that the knee was a difficult experience.Ask about using a belt to help you get your leg into bed.Different things help.,but that helped with my hip.

You have been through major surgery, it's a very big operation and it's going to take along time to heal . You must work hard on your exercises it's very important. But it dose take along time x
