Just had Uro-Lift and have some questions...

I'm 63, good shape and have had an enlarged prostate for years. I was on Flomax 4mg but it just wasn't getting the job done anymore, especially at night. My doctor suggested a Uro-Lift which I had done 8 days ago. No pain at all but I have very little bladder control, I strain fairly hard during the day and at night it's basically a dribble no matter how hard I strain. A couple of times since surgery I've had light blood in my urine. My urologist and pcp both say this is normal and my ability to urinate will improve with time. I'm absolutely miserable as this is much worse than before the surgery. Have you other guys experienced great difficulty urinating after the procedure? I keep thinking in my mind that there must be a blockage. Does it really take this long to get back to normal?

Because Urolift is mechanical, i.e., pulls lobes away from the channel, improved flow should be fairly immediate unless you have a lot of inflammation. Based on my experience I was able to void before I left the surgery center a couple of hours after the procedure. I had burning and some blood/clots which cleared up within a week. Did you ask your docs if you can take some anti-inflammatory meds?
