Just home from hospital bowel and bladder repair

My bowel prolapses was quite severe and my bladder needed put back in place . Didn't like it at all was really sick after the operation but now that stopped they have let me home . Haven't been able to pass a bowel movement and my bladder has to be retrained painkillers are helping but still very sore had my operation on Wednesday so any advice would be most welcome . How do you all cope I'm 55 with IBS and osteoporosis in hips and back so extra few problems ,they told me to try exersices but can't do them as yet although do keep trying .mind you this is only my first full day at home get tired really quickly any advice please and ohh I didn't realise that they stiches inside and out that was a shock to me

    It’s a big operation & does take a while to settle. Try not to worry (easy to say I know) and just rest as much as possible. Accept all offers of help. 

    It’s early days so no lifting etc just get up and have a little wander about every now and again.  As the days go by you will feel stronger but don’t be tempted to do too much too soon.  

    I also get IBS and it is such a nuisance with everything else so I know how you feel.  Having the bowel back in it’s normal place does feel better though so it is worth doing.  Good luck. X

      Thank you for that I know I'm only two days or three out of surgery but omg what a shock it was to find stiches on the outside frightened the life out of me but steady and slow us what I will do just having a walk in my garden for five mins every two hours just to keep the circulation going bladder not right atxall but hopefully t training and time will sort that XXX thank you for listening to me xx

      I knew I was going to have some external stitches but they didn’t cause me any problems. I must admit it was quite a while before I dared to look!
