Just increased dose of Lexapro to 20 mg. How long until I feel better?

I have been taking Lexapro (generic) for almost 5 weeks. 5 days ago, my dose was increased to 20 mg. How long should I wait to see results if they’re coming?

It seems to vary greatly from person to person, from what I've read. Some lucky people feel the positive effects as early as 2 weeks; I've also read reviews where people have said it took them 3 months to feel the positive benefits!
?I'm at almost 4 weeks on 10 mg, and, so far, I don't feel like I've made much improvement. When I went on Citalopram 5 years ago, I do remember that it was such a gradual improvement that I didn't really notice, and that it took 2 1/2 months until I feel 100% back to my old self.

I started on 20mg from the start. I was in trouble and my doc obviously saw it. At 20mg I'm fine from an axniety standpoint. I've tried dropping to 15mg and can't go two days without heavy sweat etc. Don't know where you started, give it a couple weeks, we are all different.

I'm debating whether or not I should make an appointment with my doctor today, and move up to 20 mg. I was on 40 mg of Citalopram, which is the equivalent of 20 mg escitalopram, so I've always known I quite possibly would have to be on the higher dose.

Erin. Do you have anything to supplement the lexapro? When I started my doc also have me 1mg Xanax per day of needed. I took one a day along with the lexapro for just over a month. that i am sure helped me greatly get through that first 6 weeks I don't know how I would have done on just the lexapro..
