Just received pre-op assessment date -for next week. What does this mean?

Does this mean my op is imminent (providing the assessment goes well of course)?

Advice seems to vary.

What does the group think?

    Hi Chloeparrot ,

I had a little different route - not sure because I live in Holland or just the regional hospital I was admitted to - also, I didn't find this forum until 3 weeks post-op - so ignorant I was -

urine, blood, ecg were all taken right after I was considered a candidate for THR -

my pre-op consisted of taking my medication to pharmacy, saw anesthesiologist to discuss options, talk to someone about after care and then  informative 2 hours presentation what sounds like the joint club - power point presentation that scares the hell out of you (mostly the don'ts and dislocations) and physical therapist showing some exercises ... It was a funfilled afternoon of 3-4 hours ( a lot of waiting around) -

I got my surgery date a couple of weeks later by mail ...

You are so much better prepared and knowledgable now than I was ...

    big warm hug

    renee
