Just started 50mg feel awful - please help

Hi all,

I've just started 50mg Sertraline. I'm 3 days in and suffering with crippling stomach pain, more frequently urinating, heartburn and restless sleep.

Has anyone else had any of these symptoms? I was on mirtazipine but they zonked me.

Thanks for any info

Hi CF, these are most certainly side effects, most people get some.... they should ease off soon but if it too much to bear go see your doctor for help

    Hope you feel better soon

Yes I know just how you feel cornflakes,

came iff Mirt myself  about a week ago, because, the awful side effects.

but cannot cope with my panic attacks with out help, and waiting for cognitive therapy, is beyond a joke, we need help now

well long story shorter,, saw my GP, gave me Setraline , 25 mg for 1 week, and up to 50mg

but I've inky taken it for this is my 3 rd day, and my stomached hurts, like hell, have nausea and diarrhoea.. And  absolutely no appetite.

these are some of the minor.. Side effects of Setraline.

but I suffer from panic attacks also.

Lim hoping this is just going to go away eventually..

    hope this helps. rolleyes

Thanks for your reply. I am exact same. Hardly any appetite. Forced some toast down me but just makes heartburn and stomach cramps worse.

Just another thought, have you switched from mirtazipine to sertraline without a break? If so this could be a reason why your side effects are bad as you may have withdrawal from the mirtazipine added to the side effects of sertraline!

Thanks for reply. I've been off mirt for a month and realised I needed more help! couldnt get up with mirt though so needed the change. I thought the feelings ive got now were anxiety related but I've never had them this severe.

Hi had exactly the same on the same dosage, been on them for 2 weeks and it's starting to ease now but still there a bit, I also experienced night sweats so if you get these don't worry, hope you get through it ok.
