Just started 50mg Pregabalin x 3 A Day Need Answers

Hi I've had GAD for quite some time now and I've been on Mirtazapine for aabout 4 months. I still suffered anxiety issues daily and it was getting to much for me.

I was at my specialist doctor yesterday ( I'm a recovering painkiller addict, I've been clean for a year + ) and she prescribed me 50mg of Pregabalin to take 3 times a day.

I woke this morning at 5.30 am for work and I was practically bouncing off the walls and felt like I was drunk. I'm actually scared to take them today but I know I need to take them.

My question is how long will it take for me to be able to function without being afraid to take my medication. I'm on these daily

30mg Mirtazipine 2 x 15mg

15mg Diazipam 3 x 5mg

160mg Beta Blockers 2 x 80mg

150mg Pregablin 3 x 50mg

24mg Buprenorphine 3 x 8mg

    I only took this drug for 2 days the side effects outweighed the benefits for me.  I felt depressed, mega dizzy and had to sleep with a bucket beside my bed as I felt so sick.  Also a lot of reviews on drugsdotcom where written by "anonymous" which makes me have further doubts.

      Hi thanks for the reply. I've been told to stick with them as the effects will subside within a week but my parents and friends are worried about the amount of medication I'm currently on. What do you mean by " having doubts " ?

      "Having Doubts" about the online "anonymous" glowing reviews about this medication.  I read some reviews from real people who had developed total addiction to this drug within a few days.  Also reviews about people who literally went mega crazy seeing dead people etc too.   

      I asked my shrink for this drug after reading the good reviews but I would rather be "me and anxious" than how this drug made me feel.  Though if it works for some people that is great and good luck.

      Ah ok thanks for the reply....quite interesting but scary people saying they see dead people.

    I bought some pregabs off the street as heard they were good for doing opiate WD. 1st time took em was quite interesting - bit like a light trip - but after couple of days was fine & they do deffo reduce WD symptoms. Only issue is that you build tolerance to em quite fast. I'd give em a go though.

      Yeah I'm usually on 24mg of Buprenorphine but I've been taking just 16mg a day while I'm feeling like this ( the mixture of all meds are spacing me out )

      Last time I was given Setraline on top of Mirtazapine ( I was coming off Mirtazapine and onto the Setraline roughly 4 months ago )

      I was so ill on the 2 meds that when I took my Buprenorphine they heightened my anxiety and my body was basically falling apart so I decided to cut down from 34mg Buprenorphine to 24mg without letting my doctor know.

      I eventually ended up stopping the Setraline and going back on Mirtazapine

    Hi Paul,

    I have GAD as well.  I am surprised by the amount of medications you take.  They all work well for anxiety but it is rare for any doctor to give you all of them at the same time.  Pregabalin is usually given in isolation because it can interact with Diazepam and antidepressants which is probably the reason why you feel particularly weird.  I found it was great for anxiety but decided to stop taking it  because it made me feel totally flat and depressed.  Hope it works for you

      I'll be off the Mirtazapine and Pregabalin in weeks then I'll be starting on Paroxetine, I feel not too bad now that I've been on the Pregabalin for the past 4 days now and I feel the benefits.

      I don't feel a buzz off them now but Friday will be interesting because my Pregabalin doesage is going up 50mg to 100mg and I'll only be on 15mg of Mirtazapine but I worry about becoming hooked on Pregabalin now as I find myself wanting more.

      Hi. I have GAD too. I have been on Pregabilin for a few weeks now and it has got rid of the anxiety but I too am now feeling flat and depressed. When you came of the Pregabilin did you get any withdrawals adn did you find anything else that worked for the anxiety please?
