Just started prednisolone 40mg for a flare of ulcerative colitis

Just started  prednisolone 40mg for a flare of ulcerative colitis and I am having intermittant stomach pain or burning sensation. I have only been on the course for four days. I also take aspirin (dissolved). Has anyone else had this problem and has anyone changed to enteric coated prednisolone found any relief from this stomach pain. I take the pred. during meals to try and minimise the problem. I would be grateful for any feedback.

Many Thanks

Steroids are steroids are steroids, and steroids -even as replacement. I am not a doctor, just a patient who has been on steroids (Hydrocortisone replacement) for 35 years. Some of us will experience stomach and esophagus problems: pain, burning, and even cramping. It was the first problem I felt. Doctors, including my NIH endocrinologist, dismissed the problem with more pills. So, if you can take the enteric coated Prednisolone, do, by all means (slower release, but no stomach or esophagus pain).

    Stay healthy!

      Thank you so much Veronue75825iq

That was most helpful, at least I now know that someone else has had this problem. I am just starting to take prednisolone enteric coated so I'll see how it goes.
