Just to update..had my op yesterda

Hi just to let you know that I had my salpingo oopherectomy done yesterday and I'm now home. The surgery was a success and it wasn't stuck to my bowel as it was before so they managed to get it all removed. They discovered it was what is commonly called a chocolate cyst the size of a lemon. It is caused by endometriosis and had fused itself to my pelvic wall, where the endo tissue is growing. Due to now being diagnosed with endometresosis I need to stay on the pill to minimise it.

my husband has commented that my stomach has all ready gone down in size, and even though I'm only a day post op, I'm not needing many painkillers, just paracetamol and occasion codeine, less that I was taking with the ovarian cyst

Glad to hear it went well and your back home. Sorry about the endometriosis but I guess now you know you can try and manage it.

i was shocked at the difference in my stomach size, apparaently it gets better too as the swelling can take ages to go down completely!

      Hi carlee

your right trousers are suddenly feeling much moe comfortable. Admittedly the bruising is now out so I'm still a little uncomfortable, but nothing like I was with the cyst. Thanks for your reply :-) x
