just took 3 hours ago ..

i just took my first dose 3 hours ago i feel sleepy , kinda calm but yet annoyed it didn't knock me out of help me sleep , can it take a few days to have a full effect ? i'm on 50 mg

    Hi I was on Trazadone for a few years.

    I don't think 50mg will knock you out, it will just give you a gentle sedation to hopefully help you to go to sleep.

    As this is your first dose it may take a while,  everyone reacts differently to medication so see how you go.

    Are you staying at 50mg at night? Or are you gradually increasing or taking in the morning too?

    i'm just taking 50 mg at night i hope it starts working soon

    As trazodone is an anti depressant it can take time to kick in.  Every person is different in their reaction to medications.  If you felt calm, that's a good sign. 50mg is not a lot.   While difficult, one needs patience to asses whether a drug is working for them,

    Hi

    You are supposed to take your dose when you are ready to lie down. Then relax and close your eyes and sleep will come. If you take it and don't lie down it can have the opposite effect my dr told me.

    I'm on 300mg to sleep. It has helped. Haven't had much sleep in almost a year.
