Until the lens has been implanted in a lot of people and we know their outcomes, it's not a good idea to be an early adopter. For example, look up Crystalens, also an accommodating IOL like Juvene, and read about all its attendant problems.

Juvene is a revolutionary IOL. But the lab is one thing and real world over time is another. So many things can go wrong I am not going to mention all the risk. Only time will tell.

The FDA trial is underway but I have a feeling it'll be awhile before you can just go to your local Opthalmologist and get it. Years perhaps? LensGen is talking about 2022 but I highly doubt that. Also I wonder if the accommodation will be age dependant? And the defocus curve looks good but it's not 20/20 at 8 inches. The big benefit I think will be a multifocal like defocus curve but without visual side effects. A game changer to be sure! But still not quite a perfect bio-mimic / newborn quality vision. I'm watching it with interest but I don't think I can wait.

If you search for "Ramgopal Rao, CEO, LensGen | LSI USA '22 Emerging Medtech Summit" on YouTube, and then skip to 7:29, you can see that they're expecting to sell it in Europe in 2025 (and 2026 in the US). Not sure it'd be worth the wait.
