Hi I'm not much use to you with your worry, but I just wanted you to know I've read it & my heart goes out to you as it's hard to watch a loved one not well & you can do nothing, trying to hide the worry wears you down also, so Please God ye get answers after the scan and at least ye will know what's happening.  No point in saying don't worry as we all do, but I will keep ye in my thoughts and wish your hubby a quick return to good health.

    Hi,

Try not to panic you don't usually get pain with kidney failure, however than can be things that can cause CKD that can.  Wait til the scan which isn't too long away and then hopefully you will have some answers.  It sounds like your husband is having reaccuring UTI's and you need to find out what is causingthem as they can make you feel very unwell, you also get into an unpleasent cycle.  Antibiotics do us no favours they are really very unkind to our bodies.  So once the infection has gone our body then has to get over the antibiotics which completely wipe out our immune system and leave us open to all sorts hence your husband is tired all of the time.  Has he had any blood work done and did they tell you what his albumen, creatine and GFR is, these are all things that will be looked at and kept an eye on.  Its never really that bad I have end stage renal failure and am on the transplant list and do dialysis each day.  I still work full time and have an ok quality of life.  I know what you mean about children my daughter will have nothing to do with my dialysis machine and we usually have a hard time getting her to spend time with us but when I recently got the call for a possible kidney I'm sure she though I was lying to her about what would happen if it didn't go ahead and she didn't leave my side its very hard with children of all ages.  Do keep us posted and take care x
