I had a doctor in hospital head of urology tell  me the same thing after 6 painful days and morphine in a hospital.. he did not get it!

He saw it , but said no obstruction there..

I wanted to  kill myself it hurt so bad ..

then I went to another hospital the very same week at the emergency room in NY, that nite I had the surgery and the new urologist took it out!!

    Get another opinion FAST !

I was 150% better the next day !

    Go to another doctor

You need to find a urologist that "hears" you. I would call around and ask if the urologist is aware of unobstructive kidney stone pain. The hospital will likely just send you to a urologist for treatment because your kidney stone doesn't pose an immediate threat (other than the very real pain you are experiencing). A good urologist will recognize that you need to schedule a procedure to get rid of the stone and will give you a good strong pain reliever to allieviate the pain until then.
