Kidney stone

Has anyone ever had pressure in the lower back along with pain in the abdomen?? My pain started in the left flank area of my back & has gotten alot worse! I've been dealing with this for about 3 yrs now & I'm feeling awful!! I've had numerous tests done & the most recent one was a CT of my abdomen to check for stones but none were seen! I have alot of pressure in my shoulders & pain in my back, I feel really weak from time to time. It's just sooo frustrating cause all my tests are coming back good, chest xray, blood work, GI tests! The only thing I believe I havent had is a scope which is up next! Headed to dr tomorrow AGAIN!! I'm soo over feeling like this! Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Tasha, if the scans have all come back negative, how do you know you have a stone?  Might be something else?  The CT scan for stones is usually pretty conclusive.  Do you have bleeding or other symptoms that lead you to conclude you have a stone?

Jane 16431 no I have had no bleeding that I'm aware of, but I've been treated for UTIs. I just feel like obviously something is missing or being missed somewhere! Even as a Nurse, it's very frustrating for myself to not know what's going on with me! I just wished something would be found out so I can get some rest.

Hi Tasha80850 - I have a lot of the same symptoms that you described, and I do not have a Kidney Stone. I had one last year, and I had to have surgery - lithotripsy (2) times before the doctor could get it out, and because of the pain I'm having, I was afraid I might have another one, so I just had an ultra sound of both kidneys to make sure I didn't, and I don't, thank goodness, but they can't find out what's wrong. I do have "COPD" but the problems - the pain I'm having are not from that. I've also had other tests, and recently I had a Dexa Scan as the doctor said the pain on my left side around the flank area could be caused by Osteoporosis. He also said the pain could be caused by a problem with my spine. Since I also have pain from time to time in my shoulders, and jaw, and my stomach area on the right side, they did an ultra sound of my gallbladder, and found I have gallstones, but they don't want to operate unless they absolutely have to, because of my breathing problems, so when I get a gallbladder attack, I sip on Ginger Ale and walk around, until it passes. That's the only thing that helps. Hope they find out what's going on with you soon, because this living in pain and feeling awful, isn't any fun. Take care. Barb1705

I had several UTIs from Sep  to Dec 2016

    Kept going back to doctors.

Finally a saw a different doctor and she immediately said she thought I might have a kidney stone and referred me to a urologist.

What followed was a whole year 2017 of seeing different urologists who kept referring me to another one.

Finally in December last year 2017 I went to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and had keyhole surgery to remove the stones. I am now fine.

Frankly last year is a year I do not wish to remember. I would rather blot it out of my memory of the the pain and several visits to A and E.

Hope you manage to sort this our sooner rather than later.

    All my love and prayers.

    Sarah xx
