Kidney stones after bowel resection.

I have had a bowel resection, followed by an ileostomy bag for 3 months, and then a reversal. My surgeon said that kidney stones are very common after these procedures and I have had kidney pain that's quite unbearable burning urination and I think I'm heading down that track . I see my GP on Wednesday and I will seek advice from him about what to do . ? I'm assuming I'll definitely need a scan can anybody advise if they've been through the same thing? This pain is very low down on either side of my back it's unrelenting, goes on on for hours and I need a lot of pain relief and then it can just wear off . Makes me feel very nauseous it's not gallstones. I had it a few weeks ago and mentioned it to my surgeon on a routine visit, . that's when he mentioned the gallstones. It's not all the time but I've been having attacks every day and they are quite agonising . . I use heat and strong pain relief. . Any advice welcome.

just read my post. further down in my post it's meant to say surgeon mentioned possible kidney stones. my pain is also now brought on by coffee and weirdly enough, peanuts. strong colicky pain, now higher up almost under ribs, but so bad its hard to tell where its from. Can you have this leading up to passing a stone? is it moving? have had blood test and urine test cat scan next week.
