Well it's a problem I've had for 9,months or so. There is lots of information on the internet. I've been on steroids since September.

No one knows why this happens, some people live with it all their lives.

If you can't find the info' you need, come back to the site. But I'm sure you will find what you need.

I'm sure it will all work out!

                                                                              Regards, Eric

I have had this problem for over a year now. It was discovered while I

was pregnant. I have been tested for every disease known to man except kidney biopsy. Everything has come back normal. I've been put on a mild blood pressure medication to help reduce some of the protein. Right

I go back to the kidney specialist every 3 months for a cheek up. My dr. has toled me there is about 50 patients like everyone that they just keep a close eye on. My advice to you is to stay positive, keep a healthy life style and listen to your dr. I know it's easy not to worry but there are lots of treatments out there these days. The Internet is a very useful toolhut, be careful there is also so excited pretty scary information on there.

    It will all work out,

    Mandy

Your story sounds Very Similar to Mine... I had a Symptomatic Floating / Dropping Right Kidney that left me in a Nightmare of Medical Mystery (MISERY) for 6 Years ... Until March 12th 2015 when it was Corrected wink

    Hi,

I feel I need to put your mind at rest as just because your son has protein leakage doesn't automatically mean that it will develope on to anything more serious as long as he follows the advice of the doctors - that is important.  Some people get to CKD 3 then never progress.  There is no way of knowing how something is going to turn out, however the doctors will keep a close eye on your son.  It may be they can't find a cause.  That was my issue, I became ill with a throat infection and uti I was misdiagnosed and my kidneys got scared that was when I was 13.  I had protien leakage and they didn't know why so they told me what they thought it could be.  I had various names given to it and two kidney biopsys each with different results (apparently) now I have alports (apparently) this is supposed to run in families except no one has it so I doubt very much its that.  The doctors will do tests and look after your son.  Take care

I have had leaking protein from the kidneys since I was diagnosed type 1 diabetic at the age of 13. I am now 49 but I do have CKD and will probably have to start dialysis in the next two or three years. If your son is not diabetic, he should be OK but definitely get a second opinion if you are not totally confident in what the current doctors tell you.
