    Hi Bosco

I am exactly the same. I am seven months from a partial medial right knee. I have had the same ups and downs as now seems to be expected. However, if I walk for an hour - 2 miles my knee really hurts and I need to rest. The same if I stand and cook for a long time (4 hours on Sunday) my knee feels like it's grown in size and is stiff and hurts. I do try to exercise every day for 30 minutes to gain strength although that is not always possible. It is definitely better than it was but not yet as good as I hoped.

I too would love to hear from others and their experience but hope for an eventual good outcome.

Hi bosco don't want to upset you but I'm 10 months from TKR and I'm still in pain . like you after walking or standing for long periods I'm in so much pain but the stiffness is the worst constantly. my consultant says it could take up to 2 years to heal which I hope and pray it will but good luck I know what your going through.

Eileen, I'm exactly the same so discusted really thought at 71/2 months I would be pain free. The more I read about the two year mark I'm beginning to believe it.Hope better days are ahead. Thanks for reply.

It continues to improve, so be encouraged... I am 11 months and its much better than it was at 7, so just more time.

Thank you that is encouraging. I was actually told by my surgeon that nothing would get any better than whatever you have at one year. Because of that, at seven months I did expect to be in less pain than I am after walking. I am now hopeful the next five months will see great improvement.

Exercising in a swimming pool helped me a lot, plus continuing with muscle strengthening exercises.

Thanks for that Jenny. I do thirty minutes of muscle strengthening almost every day and will try walking in the pool and water exercising. I will try anything to ensure a complete recovery.

Cannot remember if you are in UK but sports direct sell cheap ankle floats in the men's section for some odd reason... if you use those on your ankles in the pool it increases resistance a lot...they were one of my best buys! 😊

Bosco, you have not given much information. Did you have TKA or Unicompartmental knee replacement? Where in you knee is the pain felt? What type of implants were used Zimmer, Stryker etc? Do you experience pain when you first stand and walk after sitting or sleeping? If everything is in good order you should expect to be more or less pain free after 7 months. Complications could include a loose implant, infection or a poor fit and sizing of implants. If you offer some more detail including your age, weight, height, general details of surgery and overall health a better idea could be determined as to why you are suffering with pain.

I did say I had knee replacement surgery

I did say it hurts when I walk .

x-ray shows there's nothing wrong with the implant and no I don't have an evection

all I was wondering if anybody else has this issue ,
