Knee buckling 3 months after TKR

Has anyone had there TKR knee buckle? I'm 3 months post op and I know buckling is a possibility because of muscle weakness, but my knee is definitely stronger but still buckling.
It happened maybe 2 or three times since my surgery but it happened twice today and is really scaring me. My co worker also had TKR over a year ago never had her knee buckle.

It did happen to me once a few weeks ago, I got a fright too. I had my op 10 weeks ago so maybe about the 5 week mark? It's never happened again though

My co workers friend had it happen to her also. Apparently her physical therapist pushed her too hard and loosened something in the knee. They had to do surgery on her a second time. I hope that's not what's happening to me 🙁
I'm glad to hear you only experienced it once.

God, I hope that's not the case. Once is enough. Good luck x

When your muscles get tired I think it is more likely, but this is just based on my own experience. Keep up with strengthening your legs and I would have thought it would be fine? I started to use weights around 3 months and continued with strengthening exercises until six months.
Still do some now, but not as much.
Mine gave way a lot in the first few months but it's fine. Just coming up to 9 months post op now.

I haven't done any strengthening in pt yet because 7 weeks after the TKR I had to get a manipulation to get the bend past 90 degrees. The only strengthening I do right now is on my own.

Cannot say if it is a normal type of reaction but my knee occasionally does it slightly. I also had a manipulation and the ligaments and muscles have been quite sore all the way since surgery, exercise does not seem to make my leg much stronger but it was in bad shape prior to op and long term, plus I have Lipoedema of the legs which is a disorder of connective tissue, lymphatics and fat cells causes swelling and other issues. I always feel that affected my recovery.
?I'm seeing the consultant soon and will post if anything helpful comes through that. I find walking on the flat or uphill OK but very uneven ground or downhill, still lacking confidence in knee. This recovery can be a long haul. Hope things go ok, take care.

It's been three weeks since my manipulation and I have a better bend but it still swells and gets stiff a lot. I have a bizarre swelling right above the knee where the quad muscle ends and the knee begins. Doctor says it's nothing to worry about but he didn't really look at it, was more concerned about the bend. Sometimes I think that swelling is the cause of the stiffness and not getting the full range I should have at this point. I to had issues with my knee prior to the TKR. Multiple surgeries and knee cap popping out all the time. Doctor said recovery would be tougher because of that but I didn't think this tough. I start work in two days and don't feel any way strong enough.
